'Aquaman' & 'Spider-Man Into The Spider Verse' (2018) - Cut Short Review(s)

Aquaman:
Jason Momoa plays as 'Aquaman' (known as 'Arthur') in the film. He delivers a splendid performance. He entertains the audience with his perfect action and dialogue delivery. Amber Heard delivers a convincing performance, in which her character too gets an equal importance. She too strikes well in the action sequences. All the other lead supporting characters have done their part well. Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays the negative roles in the film. They have given their complete best to their characters.
Don Burgess's cinematography is really superb, where he shows the beauty of ocean in every frame. Kirk Morri's editing looks good, with sleek cuts. Rupert Gregson-Williams's background score elevates the action sequences, which makes it to look massive. The CG works are really stunning, in which the underwater portions looks very naturally. 3D effect is also good in some portions.
Director James Wan presents this film in a very entertaining and engaging way. With a proper proportion of good humour, terrific action and sentiments, he makes the audience to get a strong connect with the film. He will satisfy both the 'DC Comics' fans and the general audience. In the beginning, the screenplay takes some time to create a strong connect. At a point, the screenplay becomes engaging. From there, the film provides complete entertainment to the audience. The action sequences makes the audience to completely engaged with it. Towards the climax, the screenplay deals with some emotions. The entire climax portion has been executed well. It looks convincing.
In the beginning, the director has taken much time to create an interest towards the film. Till that, the screenplay maintains a slow pace slightly. Few things are easily predictable only. But, the strong entertainment factor will make you to forgive these flaws.

Verdict - 'Aquaman' entertains the audience and it provides a great visual experience to them. Both the 'DC Comics' fans and the general audience will enjoy this film.

Cut Short Rating - 8.4/10

Spider-Man Into The Spider Verse:
All the lead animated characters  gains a great attention among the audience. The character 'Miles Moorales', a teenage spider-man is the main lead of the film. His character only introduces every Spidey character. Two different 'Peter Parker'/'Spider-Man' characters are seen. The remaining Spidey characters are 'Spider-Woman', 'Spider-Noir', 'Peter-Porker' Spidey (animal appearance) and 'Peni Parker' Spidey (an anime girl). 'Kingpin' character is the negative lead of this film.
Robert Fisher's editing is really superb, in which his cuts helps to maintain the comic-style of animation neatly. Daniel Pemberton's background score looks good, which helps the fun and action elements to work well. The animation department has to be appreciated for creating a comic style of animation, in a very convincing way. 3D effect is not so convincing, which makes me to feel that the film would have released only in 2D.
Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman are the directors of this film. Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman are the screenplay writers of the film. The directors have given their complete best, to provide a great fun-filled action experience to the audience. The screenplay has a great importance for both the humour and action scenes. Along with that, few family emotions and motivating elements has been used along with it. In the beginning, the screenplay opens with a good start. Later, 'Miles Moorales' character leads way for every Spidey character to get into the plot. After the introduction of second 'Peter Parker'/'Spider-Man' character, the film moves in an entertaining way. This makes the audience to get completely engaged with the film. Towards the climax, the emotions play a major part in 'Miles Moorales' character's transformation. The entire climax portion is really superb and convincing.
Initially, the entertainment factor takes time to get stronger. The screenplay moves in a predictable flow only. The same pattern of narration has been used for every Spidey character. Few of them may not like the repetitive narration. Apart from that, the film provides a great fun-filled entertainment.

Verdict - 'Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse' is a fun-filled entertainer for all ages. The comic style of animation and the strong entertainment factor are the major positives of the film. Do enjoy it with your family and friends.
