'Goli Soda 2' is an action thriller directed by S.D.Vijay Milton. This film is a sequel to 'Goli Soda', which is said to be one of the Super-Hit films in the year 2014. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon plays an extended cameo role in this film. After some postponements, the film finally releases today.

Performance of the Star Cast - Bharath Seeni, Esakki Bharath and Vinoth Kesavan delivers their decent performance, and they apt well for the role given. Their emotions works well in many parts. Among the female leads, Subhiksha and Krisha gets some space to deliver their good performance. Rakshita gives her best in the given small space. Samuthrakani delivers his usual best performance, by playing a good supporting role. Chemban Vinod Jose delivers his best form of evilness. Gautham Vasudev Menon's extended cameo role is really nice, which gets a good response. All the other actors in the film have done their part well.

Technical Works - S.D.Vijay Milton's cinematography work brings out some good visuals. Deepak's editing really deserves an appreciation for making the audience, not to get confused with the three different stories. In the second half, his quick-cuts for the action sequences could have been more better, to maintain a neat flow. Achu Rajamani's songs are really good. 'Pondatee' and 'Kelambu' songs gains attraction among the audience. His background score helps to elevate the main conflict and action sequences.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director S.D.Vijay Milton gives his best to create a stronger impact than the first part. Like 'Goli Soda' and 'Kadugu', he once again handles the 'common man's anger' subject with a different storyline. Some of his dialogues looks good. He handles the three different stories in a good manner and he also makes a good connecting point for it. Still, the director has some issues with the execution of the second half.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film leads to an interrogation scene between Gautham Vasudev Menon and Samuthrakani. From there, the film travels in the flashback. The film takes some time initially to set the characters and their life. After Pondatee song, the film comes into the main track. At a point, the screenplay becomes engaging and it sets the main conflict for the lead characters. The interval block is really good. In the second half, the film moves in a smooth flow. After few minutes, the film slightly maintains a slow pace and it takes time to set a gripping point. Towards the climax, the action sequences makes way for a faster screenplay. The climax of the film looks good, with some small twists.

Main Negatives of the Film - Except the climax, this sequel follows the exact pattern of 'Goli Soda'. In the second half, the screenplay is not so steady like the first half. Even though the action looks good, it doesn't create a stronger impact because of the quick-cuts. This makes to feel like watching Hari's film suddenly. Some small minor flaws are here and there.

Verdict
'Goli Soda 2' is an another good action thriller from Vijay Milton. The director maintains a good level of interest among the audience in the first half. But, he should have concentrated more in the second half, to avoid some flaws. This sequel doesn't give a stronger impact like the first part. Still, it convinces the audience without much disappointments. So, this film deserves 'worth-watchable once' for showing the common man's anger in a good manner.

Cut Short Rating - 7.6/10
