Plot - In a place, there are some different creatures which hunts the humans by their sound. When Lee Abott's family breaks the silence, the hunt begins for those creatures. How they manages this situation forms the crux of the story. 

           'A Quiet Place' is a horror film directed by John Krasinski. He himself plays a lead role in the film. As the silence is the main backdrop of this film, the sounds are given importance in the film. 

Performance of the Star Cast - John Krasinski delivers a splendid performance. We can see how deep he goes into the skin of that character, to create the curiosity among the audience. Emily Blunt also delivers a very convincing performance and she stands strong throughout the film. Her characterisation looks neat. Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe plays a good supporting roles in this film, and they gives a great justification for their characterisation. Cade Woodward plays a small part in the film. The film just revolves around these characters only. 

Technical Works - Charlotte Bruus's cinematography work looks too good. Especially, the visuals of the dark scenes are so superb. Christopher Telleffson handles the editing work and he makes a proper screenplay flow with sleek cuts. Marco Beltrami's background score gives a good intensity to the thrilling sequences. The detailing importance given for the sounds are the biggest plus, which creates a good sense for the plot throughout the film. 

Director's Involvement with the ScriptJohn Krasinski's direction is so simple and neat. The screenplay team has really done a great job by executing it very well. John Krasinski concentrates only on what the plot needs. The dialogues are very less in the film, as the silence is the key to this plot. 

Screenplay Execution - The scene, which comes before the title of the film looks good. After few minutes, the film completely enters into the main track. From that point, the screenplay goes intriguing. The sounds makes us to get scared lightly. Towards the climax, the screenplay maintains a good level of interest among the audience. The climax of the film looks convincing with some touching emotions and a good solution for those creatures. The sounds gels well with every scene and it gives a different cinematic experience. 


Main Negatives of the Film - Even though the duration is so short, the slow screenplay pace is still slightly uncomfortable for some audience. But the slow screenplay pace is maintained to travel with the mood of the film. Some logical questioning arises in between. The simple treatment gives a light impact in two or three scenes. Some audience may feel uncomfortable because of this simple treatment. 

Verdict
          'A Quiet Place' is a very good horror thriller, which gives a different cinematic experience to us through proper detailing of sounds. Still, some audience cannot gel well with the simple treatement. But, you won't get disappointed. So, this film deserves a 'must watch once' for a different experience and also for the convincing performance. If you are a great cinema-lover, don't miss this film. 

Note - The film provides subtitles for most of the conversation, as the characters speaks through sign-language and also in mild voices. So, you can easily understand every scene. The sounds may make some weak-hearted people inconvenient. So, they can avoid this film. Watch the film in theatres with a good digital-surround system to enjoy the detailing of the sounds.
