Plot - Ramanathan ('Aadukalam' Naren) is a die-hard fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. Because of that, he names his son as 'Rajinikanth' (Arya). From the childhood itself, he has 'Mind Diversion' problem. He loves Vandhana, who is a Kuchipudi dance teacher. How this 'Mind Diversion' comes as an obstacle in his love life and how he tackles that forms the crux of the story.

'Ghajinikanth' is a romantic comedy entertainer directed by Santhosh P Jayakumar. This film is an official remake of Super-Hit Telugu film 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy'. This film is promoted as 'Complete Family Entertainer'. After some postponements, the film finally releases today.

Note - As I haven't watched the original version, I have written my review about 'Ghajinikanth' without comparing with 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy'.

Performance of the Star Cast - Arya as usual delivers his casual performance. He gives his best to make the 'mind diversion' problem in a good sync. Sayyessha Saigal comes as an usual heroine only. She looks pretty and she justifies her character neatly. Sathish and Karunakaran have done their part well. Karunakaran gets a little scope only in the film. But, Sathish gets more space to perform with his one-liners. In most of the portions, his humour works decently. 'Aadukalam' Naren and Uma Padmanabhan delivers their best and they gives their complete support throughout the film. Sampath Raj doesn't play an usual negative shade in the film. He has given his usual best performance. The actor who played the negative shade character 'Inspector Ajay' doesn't create a strong impression. Neelima Rani, Kaali Venkat, Madhumitha and Motta Rajendran have done their part well. All the other actors have justified their characters in a good manner.

Technical Works - Ballu's cinematography makes the visuals to look very cool and catchy.  Prasanna GK's editing looks sleek and the screenplay flow has been maintained in a decent flow. In two or three scenes, the cuts could have been more proper. Balamurali Balu's songs are not so attractive. 'Aariyane' song sounds good. His background score is really good.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director Santhosh P Jayakumar is known for adult-comedy genre films 'Hara Hara Maha Devaki' and 'Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu'. Now finally, he comes up with 'Family Entertainer' subject to entertain the family audience. This 'Mind Diversion' concept is not a new one. We have seen this in some films as a small part. But, Santhosh have taken this concept as the major part and he implements it in every scene of the film. Through that, he gives his best to entertain the audience. In most of the portions, it works very well. He promotes this film as 'Complete Family Entertainer' and he justifies that neatly. So, that the family audience feels comfortable with the director's treatment. But still, the director has some issues in both the half.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film opens with a decent start. The film takes 10-15 mins to settle into the plot. After that, the screenplay slowly starts to increase our interest. In between, some humour portions makes us to enjoy. Towards the interval, the screenplay maintains a good flow. The interval block is an expected one. Still, it looks good. In the second half, the entertainment factor gets into a good form. After few minutes, the screenplay becomes completely entertaining. The humour really works well. Towards the climax, the film takes a sad tone for few minutes. The climax is also an expected one with an action sequence. The twist in between the climax looks convincing and decent. Still, it can be guessed by few people. The finishing touch is not bad.

Main Negatives of the Film - In the first half, the director takes more time to create a strong connect with the audience. This makes the audience to enjoy few moments in the first half. At a stage, the 'Mind Diversion' moves in a predictable way only. The villain's characterisation is not stronger and convincing. So, the climax fight between Arya and him looks very usual. Like Arya's character, the audience also faces some mind diversion issues in the film.

Verdict
'Ghajinikanth' is a decent romantic comedy entertainer, in which the director's treatment convinces the family audience. The first half is not bad. But, the second half maintains the entertainment factor in a good level. In between, we also face mind diversion problem like Arya in the film. Still, the director doesn't give a boring feel to the family audience. Like he promised, he makes the family audience to feel comfortable with the film. So, this popcorn entertainer deserves 'worth-watchable once' category to get entertained with your family.

Note - If your gang like Arya very much, go and watch it for him without any high expectations.

Cut Short Rating - 7.2/10
