About 'Uriyadi 2' - 'Uriyadi 2' is a sequel to under-rated film 'Uriyadi', which released in the year 2016. Apart from the critical appreciation, the audience had failed to celebrate 'Uriyadi' during it's actual release. The announcement about 'Uriyadi 2' made most of the people to wait for it's release. Vijay Kumar, who has played the lead role and directed the first part, has directed this sequel too. This film has been produced by Actor Suriya, under his banner '2D Entertainment'. Actor Suriya deserves an appreciation for producing this sequel and supporting the young & talented director Vijay Kumar.

Positives
Vijay Kumar delivers a convincing performance, by justifying the role of an angry youngster against the injustice perfectly. His emotions work well like how it worked in the first part. His character 'Lenin Vijay' will make a good connect with the audience. Vismaya makes a good debut in Kollywood, by playing her part decently. 'Paridhabangal' Sudhakar will make us laugh for some of his humour content. Apart from the comedy, his character gets a serious angle from the pre-interval block, in which he has done well. The other lead actors have given their complete best. Praveen Kumar's cinematography work is excellent, in which he has shown 'Sengathir Malai' area in a realistic way. In some serious moments, his work looks really good. Linu M's editing looks sharp and sleek, without any abrupt finish. Govind Vasantha's songs are good, in which 'Vaa Vaa Penne' song is my favourite. His background score work is really good, in most of the portions. Director Vijay Kumar has a great responsibility, where he has to work more hard to fulfill the audience, who come to the theatre with the impact of 'Uriyadi'. So, he has given his complete best in this sequel, to create a greater impact than 'Uriyadi'. His writing is very clear, in which he has balanced the social issue and the politics behind it properly. All the lead characters have been utilized well. His powerful dialogues gets a great applause from the audience. Like 'Uriyadi', he treats the political content and the conflict in this sequel, with a realistic touch only. He has shown the real nature of some local politicians, who don't care about the people's welfare for their selfishness. How it will result in a bad way has also been shown, through some hard-hitting content. His screenplay execution is really good. The film opens with a good start, by dealing with some small entertaining elements in the initial stage. Later, the screenplay enters into the seriousness of the plot. From there, the film becomes engaging. The interval block and it's continuation at the beginning of the second half is so touching, which easily creates that pain that the director tries to convey. The screenplay creates a great interest from that point. The climax portion is really good, in which the power of people's anger against injustice has been strongly registered.

Negatives
The romance track between Vijay Kumar and Vismaya could have been handled a litlle bit better. Even though it has lesser importance, the director could have concentrated to present it in an interesting way. The visuals of 'Vaa Vaa Penne' song is good, but Sid Sri Ram's vocal goes missing it. I don't know why have they have used another male singer for the film version. Without Sid Sri Ram's voice, I couldn't enjoy the visuals of that song personally. The raw treatment, which we have seen in 'Uriyadi' is really missing in this sequel, to get 'U' certificate from the censor board. So, it may be a small disappointment for a few people. Even though the climax portion has some action, the violence is very less and looks usual only. Usually, a director cannot give complete satisfaction in a sequel, when compared to it's first part. But, the director has to give his complete best to satisfy the audience, who comes to watch the sequel with the great expectations of the first part. In that case, Director Vijay Kumar's writing and execution will create a good impact only. Still, few of them may not get convinced completely.

Verdict
'Uriyadi 2' is another good political drama from the director Vijay Kumar, who has also played the main lead. He has delivered the political content in a very hard-hitting way, which will be an eye-opener to the audience. We can easily relate ourselves with the political content, in which the current reality has been shown properly. Even though few of them may not get complete satisfaction, the political content will not disappoint in any aspect. We have failed to celebrate 'Uriyadi' during it's actual release. Atleast, we can support this sequel, by watching it in theatres. So, this film deserves 'must watch once' for the director's gutsy and honest attempt. Watch it with your friends and family in theatres near you.
