They decides to monitor their actions. So, they appoints Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan) as their spy. At the right time, Firangi joins with Azaad's thug gang. How Firangi goes against John Clive and how did the people get freedom forms the crux of the story.

'Thugs of Hindostan' is an action period drama, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharaya. Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan plays the main lead roles. This Bollywood film has been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. Both the original and dubbed versions gets released on 8th November.

Performance of the Star Cast - Amitabh Bachchan delivers his usual splendid performance. In the action sequences, he has given his complete best. As usual, Aamir Khan delivers an effortless performance. Through his characterisation, he steals the entire show. His characterisation has both positive and negative shades. So, we will not able to judge his decisions easily. He also scores well in the action sequences. Fatima Sana Shaikh delivers a convincing performance, but her rage for revenge could have been better. Still, she attracts the audience with her stunning action. Katrina Kaif is just used as a glam doll for two songs. She plays her part neatly. Lloyd Owen plays the antagonist of the film. He delivers a good performance and his character gives a good tough to the lead protagonists. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub plays a good supporting role. His performance looks convincing. Ronit Roy, Satyadev Kancharana and Abdul Quadir Amin have done their part well. All the other actors have given their full support throughout the film.

Technical Works - Manush Nandan's cinematography work is really excellent, in which his visuals gives a realistic feel of that period. Ritesh Soni's editing is really nice, with sharp and sleek cuts. His editing work maintains a good screenplay flow, without getting confused with the events. Ajay-Atul combo has composed the songs for the film. Even though the songs has a good tone, Tamil lyrics doesn't gel well with it. Still, 'Mannaa Kaetkudhaa' song sounds good. John Stewart Eduri's background score elevates the action sequences in a great way. The set work is really nice, in which the art department deserves an appreciation. The CG works are also good, without much loss in the quality. Tamil dubbing is not bad, which doesn't spoil the mood of the film.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director Vijay Krishna Acharya tries to present this action period drama in an entertaining way. His detailing work is really nice, which makes the audience to get a realistic feel of that period. With a top-notch technical work, he gives a good grandeur experience to the audience. He frames the lead characters in a very good way. Among that, Aamir Khan's character only stays strong in the audience minds. He has concentrated much on every department, but the screenplay execution faces some issues. The engaging treatment could have been better, little bit.

Screenplay Execution - In both the half, the screenplay pace is little bit slow only. In the first half, the film opens with a good start. After the title card, the screenplay takes some time to create a strong interest. Later, the screenplay flow picks up well. In between, the action sequences entertains the audience strongly. Towards the interval, the screenplay becomes more interesting. The interval point looks good, which gives a good lead for the second half. In the second half, the screenplay once again takes some time to get back to the flow. At a point, the screenplay becomes engaging. Later, the engaging screenplay slightly drops down. From the pre-climax portion, the entertainment factor becomes stronger. The entire climax portion is really convincing.

Main Negatives of the Film - The main issue of the film is the improper balance of engaging factor. In the screenplay, it suddenly goes high and comes down. This makes the entertainment to be normal. Apart from Aamir Khan's character, we are able to predict the next move of other lead characters. This makes way for the predictability to be stronger in few parts. An usual treatment is only followed in the establishment of the major conflict. The film gives a great grandeur experience with rich visuals, but some issues in the screenplay execution makes the audience to get a normal feel only.

Verdict
'Thugs of Hindostan' is a good action adventurous entertainer from Vivek Krishna Acharya. The performance of the star cast stands strong. The technical works makes the film to look very rich. It also gives a grandeur experience. Still, the film faces some issues in the screenplay execution. If the director concentrated more in the engaging factor, the film would have been more convincing. Still, the film doesn't disappoint the audience much. This film deserves 'worth watchable once' category for Aamir Khan - Amitabh Bachchan and also for the terrific action. Watch the film with low expectations, to get entertained decently.
