Plot - Sathya (Jai) and Paari (Daniel Anne Pope) are best friends. Sathya wants to run a travels company. He gets a bank loan to start his travels business, through a fraud agent. Later, both of them gets into the trouble. Keerthy (Reba Monica John) decides to get settled in her life, through an abroad job. She also gets deceived by a fraud agency. How these people get connected at a point and what happens next forms the crux of the story.

Performance of the Star Cast - Jai fits into this commercial entertainer perfectly. As usual, he delivers his casual performance. He scores well in the action sequences. Reba Monica John makes a good debut in Kollywood, with a decent performance. Still, he struggles to express her emotions in few portions. Daniel Anne Pope plays a supporting character role, in which he has done his part well. He makes us to laugh for few of his one-liners. Robo Shankar also makes us to laugh for few of his funny expressions and dialogues. Amit Tiwari and Jayakumar have given their best for the negative roles. Nitin Sathya makes his debut as a producer. His role is just like an extended cameo role. Ilavarasu, GM Kumar, Bose Venkat and Kaavya have done their part well.

Technical Works - R.D.Rajasekhar's cinematography is really nice, in which his visuals maintains a good colour tone. This film is said to be 75th film for Editor Praveen KL. His editing looks simple and neat. His cuts doesn't have any abrupt finish. But, his editing pattern slows down the screenplay pace in few portions. Bobo Shashi's songs are not much impressive. But, 'Yaaradi Nee' song stays in our hearts. His background score looks good in the action sequences.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director AN Pitchumani makes his debut in Kollywood, by selecting a commercial entertainer script. The lead characters has been written, in which 'Run For Life' element is the common factor. He sets a good conflict for those characters to get connected. But, his further proceeding could have been smarter. He repeats some usual cliches here and there. His screenplay execution is not bad. But, the entertaining moments are less only. He should have concentrated more, to make the screenplay more engaging and interesting.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film opens with a decent start. After 'Seiyuradha Senju Mudi' song, the screenplay falls into the serious track slightly. The humour content gets a good starting point from Robo Shankar's entry. The screenplay entertains the audience here and there, by making them to laugh for some humour. The pre-interval block sets the major conflict. The interval block is expected one only, but it assures us of an entertaining latter half. In the second half, the screenplay maintains a good flow. In between, the small romance track of Jai and Reba Monica comes as a disturbance little bit. Later, the screenplay takes the predictability route. In the pre-climax portion, Jai's smarter play looks good. The climax is also expected one, with an usual action ending.

Main Negatives of the Film - The logical questioning arises here and there. The predictability factor plays a major part in the screenplay. But, the director's presentation should be in such a way to forgive these flaws. In that case, AN Pitchumani should have focused more in the entertainment factor, to work it big. His screenplay loses the engaging factor in few parts, which makes the screenplay pace to be slow. The characters become weak at a point. In the second half, the screenplay looks like dragged in few portions. So, the audience doesn't get a strong convincing feel.

Verdict
'Jarugandi' is an average commercial entertainer, in which the screenplay entertains the audience for an extent. Daniel and Robo Shankar makes us to laugh for their few humour portions. The screenplay execution is not bad. But, the entertainment only works here and there. If the director concentrated more on the engaging screenplay, the film would have been more entertaining. This film deserves 'watchable once' category for Jai's convincing performance. Without any much expectations, watch it for a good time-pass with your family and friends.
