'Tik Tik Tik' is said to be 'First Indian Space Film' directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. After 'Miruthan', Jayam Ravi joins hands with him for this space film. In this film, Jayam Ravi's son Aarav Ravi plays a small role. Aaron Aziz is a Malaysian - Singaporean actor, who plays a negative role in this film. After the postponement from 'Republic Day' release, the film finally hit the screens today, with good level of expectations from the audience.
Performance of the Star Cast - Jayam Ravi delivers a splendid performance and he scores well in both action and father-son sentiment sequences. Nivetha Pethuraj delivers a neat performance. Vincent Ashokan plays a supporting role, in which he gives his complete best to his characterisation. Jayaprakash and Rethika Srinivas gives their best in their portions. Arjunan and Ramesh Thilak shines well as supporting characters in this film. Their humour content works well for a small extent. Aaron Aziz's role is just like an extended cameo, still he gives his best. Aarav Ravi delivers his cute performance and his portions doesn't disturb the main track of the film.
Technical Works - S.Venkatesh cinematography is really amazing, in which the VFX (for space) suits well with his visuals and it creates a good atmosphere for the space experience. Pradeep E Ragav's editing looks so good, with sharp and crisp cuts. His editing makes way for a good screenplay flow. D.Imman impresses the audience with 'Kurumba' and 'Tik Tik Tik' song. 'Kurumba' song is really refreshing one, in which the real life of Jayam Ravi and Aarav Ravi is also seen. Imman gives his good background score, where the plot needs. The VFX work looks so decent, which gives a realisitic feel of space experience to the audience. So, this film is technically so strong.
Director's Involvement with the Script - Director Shakti Soundar Rajan always comes with some different experimentation like scripts to Kollywood. Like 'Naaigal Jaakirathai' and 'Miruthan', he wants to give a space adventure to Kollywood audience. He promotes this film as 'First Indian Space Film'. In every scene, we will get a feel that the director has really researched a lot for this film. He doesn't go with many technical terms related to space, for the convenience of the general audience. He also treats some commercial elements, for the general audience to make a good connect with the film. But, he doesn't add any unnecessary elements.
Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film directly enters into the main plot. After the treatment of father-son sentiment, the screenplay maintains a good flow without making the subject bored. From the pre-interval block, the film gives us a complete space experience. The interval block is good, which creates a good curiosity for the latter half. In the second half, the film initially takes some time to settle into the main track. After that, the screenplay goes in a gripping way. Towards the climax, the screenplay will make our guess right. Still, the film ends in a decent and convincing way.
Main Negatives of the Film - Many logical questioning arises among the audience, which is the biggest negative of this film. So, the screenplay makes way for a predictable flow in the second half. The main twist in the film gets revealed in the first five minutes of the second half, which also helps the predictability factor. Some scenes will really make few audience to start a comparison with the Hollywood flicks. These flaws are negligible only, as the director convinces the audience with a good space experience.
Verdict
