Plot -  Veeramuthu and Pachamuthu are thick friends. They try to conquer the place of Sura Murugan for a great living (gethu life). What happens next forms the remaining of the story.

'Veera' is a film directed by debut director Rajaraman. The producers of 'Yaamiruka Bayamey' once again joined hands with Kreshna for this film. After several delays, the film finally released yesterday.

Performance of the Star Cast - Kreshna delivers a very good performance and he gives a good justification for his characterisation. Iswarya Menon makes a neat debut in Kollywood with her good performance. Even though her characterisation has an importance with the second half portions, she is not utilized well with the plot. Karunkaran plays a supporting role in this film and gives his best. But, his humour doesn't work well. Yogi Babu and Motta Rajendran also plays a supporting role and gives their usual performance. Charandeep and Kanna Ravi plays the negative shade in the film and delivers their convincing performance. 'Aadukalam' Naren, Radharavi and Thambi Ramaiah plays an extended cameo like role in the film, with their usual performance.

Technical Works - Kumaran and Vignesh handles the cinematography, and their visuals gives the real look of that local area. Suresh's editing could have been better, as the continuity goes missing in some scenes. The songs composed by Leon James is so superb. Prasad's background score is not upto the mark, but it gels well with the action sequences.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director Rajaraman makes a directorial debut with his commercial action entertainer script, in a new treatment. The detailing of the 'Sketch Potu Thookurathu' is shown in a very good manner. But his screenplay execution completely fails to make a strong foundation for the plot. He should have tried some interesting elements into the film. In some parts, his making looks good.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film gets into the main track only after the entry of Radha Ravi. Before that, the screenplay is not so intriguing. Towards the interval point, the screenplay maintains a good flow. The interval block is not so good, but it promises a fun filled second half, with some terrific action sequences. In the second half, the songs placement looks unnecessary to the main track. In between, the screenplay is in a pointless flow. Some scenes are convincing. The climax with some action sequences looks convincing.

Main Negatives of the Film - First of all, the screenplay fails to create an impact, as it is not so interesting and convincing. The time taken to get into the main plot is long, and it deviates from the main track in many scenes. The humour content will always be a safe play in the commercial entertainer. But in this film, the humour works well with the situation only in some parts. The song placement of 'Verattama Veratturiye' and 'Mama Mama Mayangaadhe' spoils the flow. These issues fails to create a fulfilled feel. Kreshna should avoid these type of scripts in the future.

Verdict
'Veera' is an action entertainer, which disappoints the audience with a weak screenplay execution. We won't get fulfilled with the film. So, it deserves a 'watchable once' for some action sequences.

Cut Short Rating - 5.4/10
