PlotAs the minister wants to escape from the IT Raid, he gives his laptop to his auditor. Later on, he blackmails him and demands money for it. Ganesh is a thief, who played in the life of Seenu and Raghu. How they all get connected at a point and what happens next forms the crux of the story.

'Kalakalappu 2' is the sequel of one of the most successful films of 2012 'Kalakalappu', directed by Sundar C. The entire star cast gets changed in this sequel except Shiva. The plot has more similarities with the first part, which was an expected one.

Performance of the Star Cast - Jiiva, Jai and Shiva delivered their best performance and supports the entertaining factor throughout the film. Among them, Shiva scored very well and the humour gets into a good form, only after his entry. Nikki Galrani and Catherine Teresa came as an usual heroine, and they contributed their best in some scenes. Sathish, George Maryan, Yogi Babu, Singamuthu, Robo Shankar, Vaiyapuri and Manobala were used for the humour portions. But, Yogi Babu and George Maryan portions were outstanding. The other actors have done their part well. Nandita's cameo in the climax was nice.

Technical Works - Senthil Kumar's cinematography was so superb, as the visuals were so colorful, and the Varanasi shots were so lively. Srikanth's editing was good, but his edits could have been better. Hip Hop Adhi's songs gave an usual feel, in which 'Thaarumaaru' and 'Oru Kuchi Oru Selfie' songs were so peppy. His background score elevates the humour content in some scenes.

Director's Involvement with the Script - We all know about Sundar C for his complete family entertainment package films. He impressed all with his superb film 'Kalakalappu' in the year 2012. Still, the impact of that film has not decreased even a bit. With that impact, he increased our curiosity of this sequel with a superb star cast. He gave a complete laughter riot experience in the second half. In the first half, he should have tried some interesting stuffs into it. He could have avoided some double meaning dialogues.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film took more time to settle into the entertaining zone. Till that, the film was going on with a flat screenplay. Some humour portions worked out well. Towards the break point, the film gets into it's main track with a promising second half. In the second half, Shiva's play took off the entertaining factor and the screenplay takes a top gear. From that, the non-stop comedy was guaranteed. Till the end, the humour portions were so superb, with many laughter out loud moments. The climax was so hilarious.

Main Negatives - The humour stuffs in the first half didn't work well like the second half. The duration of the first half was so lengthy with romance stuffs. The songs placement deviates our interest towards the film. As the Shiva says 'Idhu Sundar C Padam Logic La Edhir Paakatha' at the end, I am not considering the logical loop holes as a negative. Likewise, this sequel cannot be compared with the first part. The entertaining factor was not so strong in this sequel, because of the issues in the first half.

Verdict
'Kalakalappu 2' is an usual Sundar.C type commercial entertainer with more no.of logical errors and strong humour content. If he have concentrated more in the first half, the film would have been more convincing. But the strong humour portions in the second half will make you forgive those flaws. So, this sequel deserves a 'worth watchable once' for a good entertainment with family and friends.

Cut Short Rating - 7.2/10
