Plot - How Arivu brings a change in the food manufacturing companies, which are dangerous to our health, with the union of those company workers forms the crux of the story.

Performance of the Star Cast - Sivakarthikeyan finally came out of his comfort zone and he did some justice to his character. Nayanthara didn't have a strong characterisation, but she was utilized well with the flow of the storyline. She gave her best in the limited space. Fahadh Faasil delivered a neat performance with some clever and tricky acts in the villainism parts. The other leading actors looked so promising, but they played just like an extended cameo in the film. Still, they showed their good support throughout the film.

Technical Works - Ramji's cinematography work was so extraordinary and gave a fresh feel in every scene. Ruben's editing work was very nice with sharp cuts. Anirudh's background score gave good intensity in some scenes. 'Karuthavanlam Galeejam' song was so peppy and refreshing to the audience.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Mohan Raja Sir made a stronger foundation with a great comeback in 'Thani Oruvan' with his excellent making and execution. He proved that he can also score with his own scripts. He took a long break and he had a great research for this script about marketing strategy. So, he once again proved his brilliance in the making and dialogues of the film. The hard hitting content was so stronger.

Screenplay Execution - In the beginning, the screenplay took more time to get into the main track. After the entry of Fahadh Faasil, the screenplay was engaging and gripping. Later, the characterisation of Fahadh gets stronger at a point. The interval block was superb with some good dialogues. In the second half, the screenplay gets disturbed with the placement of 'Iraiva' song. The cat and mouse game between Siva and Fahadh was good only for an extent. The climax song had a great impact among the audience, but it was not a good finishing touch.

Main Negatives - Many logical loopholes were there in the film. The second half of the film had very good messages, but the gripping factor becomes low in some scenes. In both the half, the duration was so lengthy.

Verdict
'Velaikkaran' is a very good commercial entertainer and a sincere tribute to all workers in every industry. Though it contain some flaws, the stronger content and the well written screenplay made a good platform for the film. It deserves 'worth watchable once' for the content.

Cut Short Rating - 7.8/10
