Plot - How Sathya finds the mystery behind the kidnap of his ex-lover's girl child amidst many confusions revolving around it forms the crux of the story.

In 2016, some of the tollywood films attained a great success in box-office. Among them, a low budget film 'Kshanam' was highly appreciated by both the critics and general audience. During Bahubali 2 shooting, Prabhas recommended about this film to Sathyaraj Sir, which made him to remake this film officially in Tamil with his own son Sibiraj. So, Sathyaraj Sir produced this remake under his own company 'Naathambal Film Factory' under the direction of Pradeep Krishnamoorthy of 'Saithaan' fame.

Performance of the Star Cast - After Naaigal Jaakirathai, Sibiraj delivered a very neat performance and made a strong comeback. Ramya Nambeesan delivered a very natural performance and made us convinced. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar had a stronger characterisation in the second half and scored well with her best performance. Sathish played a character role in this film and gave his best. Yogi Babu scored well with his usual humour stuffs in his limited portions. Anandaraj Sir really done a great job with some funny dialogues. The other characters gave their support very well.

Technical Works - Arunmani Palani's visuals were really nice to this genre. Gautham Ravichandran's editing was very good. Simon K King's background score gave an high intensity to the suspense elements. 'Yavanna' and 'Kadhal Project' songs were nice.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Some directors make some changes while directing the remake films for the comfort of their audience. Except a small change, Director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy followed the exact pattern of it's original version. The dialogues by 'Selfie Review' Karthick Krishna were really good.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the engaging factor was added to the screenplay only after few minutes. From that, it holds the interest of the audience and made them to watch keenly. The suspense elements goes on increasing from one scene to another. The interval block was a good one. In the second half, the screenplay gets more intense and will give many nail biting moments. The revealing of the suspense with an unexpected twist was really good. The songs were given less importance. The gripping factor with the audience was maintained from the beginning to end.

Main Negatives - Engaging factor will make us forget those minor flaws. The replica of the original version in every frame made me little bit disappointed. Still, it's not a great blunder.

Verdict
This thriller was an intriguing one. From the beginning to end, the screenplay will be very gripping along with top notch performance by the lead actors. By neglecting those minor flaws, 'Sathya' is a very good remake in recent times and deserves a must watch in theatres.

Cut Short Rating - 8.5/10
