Among many films released this year , some films can be categorized as 'Best Films of 2017'. So, let us see about those films. This is based on the chronological order of the release date from January to December.
Kuttram 23 - This film was directed by Arivazhagan. It focused on the medical crimes happening in the fertility centres. Arun Vijay's performance and the engaging screenplay to this strong content made the film to reach a great success.
Maanagaram - This film was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The natural performance of the star cast and the interlink of all the stories with an engaging screenplay easily attracted the audience, without getting confused to it.
Kavan - This film was directed by K.V.Anand. In this film, he focused on the scripted reality shows for TRP and also showed for what extent they will go for it. The film had a pre-interval block, which was an unexpected one. In both the half, the screenplay was so intriguing and very hard-hitting about the reality of some TV Shows, for TRP Race.
8 Thottakal - This film was directed by Sri Ganesh. The plot is very simple, but he presented in a very good manner. He sketched the antagonist role of M.S.Bhaskar Sir in a very neat manner, in which he stood strong throughout the film with great emotions.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - This sequel film was directed by SS Rajamouli Sir. The film was so strong in all aspects and the star cast delivered a stellar performance, which was a summer treat to all the type of audience. This is the biggest hit in the history of Indian Cinema. Till now, the impact created by this film cannot be easily erased from our minds.
Lens - This film was directed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan. It gave more detailing about the voyeurism and how privacy between couples gets affected because of some filthy acts by perverts in a very bold manner.
Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu - This film was directed by Suresh Sangaiah. The plot is all about the perspective from a goat's side. Everything in the film looked so lively and we were able to get connected with the storyline throughout the film.
Maragadha Naanayam - This film was directed by ARK Saravan. The plot is an usual one, but the screenplay execution without any unwanted elements made a strong platform for the film. Because of the laughter riot, the film was attracted by all the ages.
Vikram Vedha - This film was directed by a couple Pushkar-Gayathri. The plot was very simple. But the screenplay execution and explanation of a situation from different perspective along with unexpected twists got great appreciation from all. Among the star cast performances, Vijay Sethupathi stole the show.
Meesaya Murukku - This film was directed by Hip Hop Adhi. The plot is very simple, but every youthful elements in an entertaining manner, made the entire film so engaging and colourful. It gave a good motivation at the end of the film and showed a right path for youngsters.

Taramani - This film was directed by Ram. The film talked about the culture of IT Professionals. It focused mainly on the male domination and feminism in a very bold and entertaining manner. Andrea scored very well with her bold performance. The voice over by Ram was an interesting part in the film.
Kurangu Bommai - This film was directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. He took a very simple and usual plot in this film. But he handled it completely in a very different narration. The proper explanation in those stories and the great performances were the biggest plus. The climax made a stronger impact to the audience.
Thupparivalan - This film was directed by Mysskin. He took the characterisation sketch of the lead actors from the 'Sherlock Holmes'. But, his own style of narration with an intriguing screenplay gave a different experience to the audience. It also made a strong comeback for Vishal from his previous commercial flicks.
Aramm - This film was directed by Gopi Nainar. His making style was entirely different. The content of the film stood strong along with star cast performances. From the beginning to end, we all were able to get connected with the social issue that the film dealt with. We all will shed tears at the end of the film.
Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru - This film was directed by Vinoth. The film focused on an untouched plot in the cop investigation thriller. The director handled those real incidents in a very lively manner. It also gave a different perspective to the audience about the good qualities of a police officer and also a great pride for Tamil Nadu Police.
Thiruttu Payale 2 - This film was directed by Susi Ganeshan. The film gave a clear picture to the social addicts in maintaining their own privacy. The powerful performances by the lead actors and the well-written screenplay were the biggest plus.
Sathya - This film was directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. It's an official remake of telugu film 'Kshanam'. The screenplay execution was an extraordinary one to this intriguing thriller, even though they followed the same pattern of 'Kshanam', just with a small change.
Maayavan - This film was directed by C.V.Kumar. He presented this usual crime thriller in a different perspective of science fiction in it. The screenplay execution and new techniques were the biggest plus.
Aruvi - This film was directed by Arun Prabhu Purushothaman. The star cast is completely new to Kollywood. But they made a stronger impact with a great scope of emoting to the core. Aditi Balan stole the entire show with her simple and elegant acting. The making style gave a different feel to the audience by making them to laugh and also to think about those sensible issues, which we are still neglecting now.
