This year is very special for many debut directors as they succeeded in their debut by getting great appreciations from critics and general audience. In the lines of Dhuruvangal 16, Maanagaram, 8 Thottakal, Rangoon and Maragadha Naanayam which got positive response for a uniqueness in the screenplay of usual plots, Kurangu Bommai now joins this list. Vidharth is really doing a great job by selecting good content oriented scripts like his previous flicks Kuttrame Thandanai and Oru Kidaayin Karunai Manu. He gave his best performance. Director Bharathiraja Sir once again given his mindblowing performance after 'Pandiyanaadu' film. He really lived like Vidharth's father in the movie. The storyline is very simple but the screen execution is completely different. Director Nithilan really done a great job in introducing every characters of the film. He made us to notice all his interesting minute detailing too in many scenes. He gave many incomplete parts in the beginning and then he revealed it later in black and white color technique which was really superb. Some fun moments in between some scenes was also good. An actor who played as a pickpocket in this film created a good attention. Interval block was good with a sharp twist in the tale. In second half, Nithilan really concentrated good and given a good output in it with some good twists. He scripted every characters of the film perfectly. Ajaneesh's Songs didn't give a good feel where his background score does. The finishing touch was reallly nice. Romance scenes between Vidharth and Delna is not impressive and looked artificial which created a small lag in the first half. Except this issue, the film is excellent in making and it's execution.
Verdict - It's an usual plot with a different screenplay which make us to sit and watch the film without any bored feel. It deserves a Must Watch and also our support will help this film to get more shows in further days.
Cut Short Rating - 8.8/10
