Plot - Shiva (Kavin), Raju (Raju) and Mani (Arunraja Kamaraj) are best friends, since childhood. How Shruthi (Ramya Nambeesan) enters in their life and how her entry creates a collapse in their friendship forms the crux of the story.

'Natpuna Ennaanu Theriyumaa' is a romantic-comedy entertainer, directed by a newcomer 'Shiva Aravind'. This film has to be released in the year 2018. Due to financial issues, the entire team couldn't make the film to release on time. After solving all the issues, the film finally released in theatres on 17th May.

Positives
Kavin ('Saravanan Meenatchi' fame) plays the male lead for the first time. His character will make you feel like the boy next door. He delivers a good performance, by knowing what his character needs. Raju and Arunraja Kamaraj have played an important role, next to Kavin. They both have stolen the show, in which their one-liners gel well with respect to the situation. So, it provides good laughter experience to the audience. Ramya Nambeesan gets a good role and she has given her best for that. Ilavarasu and Azhagam Perumal have played their part well. Yuva's cinematography work is good, by maintaining a good color tone for this rom-com genre. R.Nirmal's editing looks sleek and sharp, by maintaining the screenplay pace at the correct level. So, the film doesn't give a lengthier feel. Dharan's songs are good. The songs like 'Cow Song' and 'Andhar Bulty' has impressed me. He has given a good background score for what this genre needs. Director Shiva Aravind makes a decent debut in Kollywood, with a rom-com script. Even though the title is 'Natpuna Ennaanu Theriyumaa', he doesn't force-fit the friendship emotion like 'Natpu Da Natpu Da' in any scene. He deals the friendship between the three characters 'Shiva', 'Raju' and 'Mani' in a casual way only. So, a connect gets established with those characters easily. He has balanced the romance & friendship element in a correct meter. His writing for the humour content is really good, which works well with the situation. His writing of the characters 'Raju' and 'Mani' gets stronger from the pre-climax portion, which is the main reason behind the good entertainment. In the first half, the film takes some time to grab audience's attention. After 'Thookuda Collar-a' song, the screenplay gets into the main track. The interval block is good, which has a small twist. In the second half, the humour content comes to a proper form after 'Andhar Bulty' song. From that point, the screenplay becomes entertaining, with some LOL moments. Till the climax portion, the screenplay is really enjoyable. The climax portion is also good, which will convince everyone.

Negatives
The film has some issues in the first half only. When compared to the second half, the humour content in the first half will convince only a few of them. Because, the humour content is normal only, which is neither too boring nor too interesting. So, the screenplay execution in the first half could have been a little bit better. In both the half, the screenplay moves in a predictable flow only, where the director's twists can be easily guessed. Still, he manages to hold the audience's interest with the good humour in the second half. Even though the romance portion between Kavin - Ramya Nambeesan has been given less importance, the director treats it in the usual way only. In some portions, the director doesn't give proper reasoning. 'Carrom Board' song could have been avoided, as the placement of that song disturbs the flow in the second half. Kavin's performance is fine for playing the male lead for the first time. But, he has to improve a little bit in his upcoming films.

Verdict
'Natpuna Ennaanu Theriyumaa' is a good romantic-comedy entertainer from the debut director 'Shiva Aravind'. The friendship emotion works well, without much over build-up. The romance element works decently in the required portions. In the first half, the screenplay execution is somewhat good. In the second half, the screenplay becomes entertaining, where the humour content gets a good foundation and provides a laughter experience. If the director has focused much on the first half, this entertainer would have been more convincing. Still, you will come out of the theatre with complete and decent satisfaction. So, this film deserves 'worth watchable once' category for the good humour content. Watch the film with your friends in theatres. The family audience will also like it.
