Plot - Why Sikandar Singh's own family members turns against him and what happens next forms the remaining of the story.
'Race 3' is an action thriller directed by Remo D'Souza. This is the third installment of Super-hit 'Race' film series. In Race 1 and 2, Saif Ali Khan plays the main lead. In this third installment, Salman Khan replaces him. This film comes as an usual Ramzan treat from Salman Khan for his fans. This film is available in both 3D and 2D versions in theatres.
Performance of the Star Cast - Salman Khan steals the show just with his screen presence. His performance in action sequences will definitely satisfy his fans. Anil Kapoor delivers a neat performance. Jacqueline Fernandez gives her best. Daisy Shah scores well in the action sequences. Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem and Freddy Daruwala have given their best for what their characters need.
Technical Works - Ayananka Bose's cinematography work is really excellent, especially in the action sequences. Rameshwar S Bhagat's editing work is good, with some sharp cuts. All the music directors have given their best for the songs. Salim Sulaiman's background score is not so impressive, but it looks decent. The stunt choreographers has to be appreciated for giving an extraordinary action experience. The 3-D effects is really good in action sequences.
Director's Involvement with the Script - Director Remo D'Souza is well known for his 'ABCD' film series. The selection of the star cast and crew is really good. But still, he doesn't utilize their potential in an entertaining way. He gives more importance for the action sequences. Shiraz Ahmed's screenplay execution lacks the entertainment factor in many scenes. He should have concentrated more to satisfy the taste of the audience.
Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film opens with a good start till the introduction of Anil Kapoor and his family. After that, the screenplay moves in a slow pace. The romantic portion between Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez has been handled in an usual way. The film struggles to create an interest among the audience. The interval block is not so powerful, still it gives a lead for an action-packed second half. In the second half, the screenplay moves in a good flow for few minutes. Later, the film once again moves in its usual flow without creating much curiosity. The fight between Jacqueline and Daisy is superb. Towards the climax, the screenplay slightly brings a relief. The climax portion has some good action sequences. Later the film ends with a lead for 'Race 4'.
Main Negatives of the Film - Except the action sequences, the film doesn't keep the audience engaging. The screenplay doesn't have any gripping factor. Because of these issues, the film fails to create a strong connect with the audience. In the second half, the songs highly disturbs the flow. Before the release, the film creates a great hype among the audience. Now, this film makes the audience to come out of the theatre with many disappointments.
Verdict
'Race 3' is an average action-thriller, in which the execution of action sequences only looks good. Other than that, the film doesn't entertain the audience. The director should have concentrated more to make a strong platform for the entertainment. The star cast and the action sequences is the only saviour. So, this film deserves 'watchable once' for the screen presence of Salman Khan and the action sequences.
Note - Salman Khan fans and some action lovers may like the film. This film will not satisfy the general audience. So, watch the film with very low expectations.
