Plot - How Major Kathiravan falls in White Devil's trap through a bank loan and what happens next forms the crux of the story.

'Irumbu Thirai' is a cyber-crime based action thriller directed by PS Mithran. The storyline of the film is based on the 'information theft' concept. The trailer of the film created a great curiosity among the audience.

Performance of the Star Cast - Vishal delivers a stunning performance and he gives a complete justification to his character, for what the plot needs. 'Action King' Arjun steals the show with his superb style of evilness. The director has utilized the potential of Vishal and Arjun very well, which gives a good output to the film. Samantha delivers her best in the given space. Her characterisation is also utilized well with the plot. Robo Shankar gives his best in few humour portions. Delhi Ganesh scores well in his portions through his innocence and strong emotions. All the other actors in the film have done their job very well.

Technical Works - George C Williams handles the cinematography and his visuals are so superb, which gives a clear picture of the subject handled. Ruben's editing is as usual so superb, with terrific and sleek cuts. Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs are not bad. His background score is really ultimate and it helps in increasing the intensity of the film. He is also a biggest plus in the film.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Director PS Mithran deserves a great appreciation for handling this untouched cyber crime in a very convincing manner. He gives proper detailing of the crime, which will really make us shock and dumbstruck. As he gives this proper detailing, the film doesn't have any logical errors. He doesn't keep the romantic tracks 'Angry Bird Aana' and 'Azhagae' song in the film, which avoids the disturbance to the intriguing flow. He is so true to his script from the beginning to the end. His brilliance also works well in many scenes. This film is enough to prove himself as the one of the best directors in Kollywood.

Screenplay Execution - In the first half, the film opens with a small gist about what the plot gonna deal with. Then the film takes some time to settle into the core of the plot. After entering into the plot, the screenplay becomes intriguing and very interesting. The cat and mouse game between Vishal and Arjun gets started from the interval point. In the second half, the film focuses only on the subject without any deviation. The action sequences are superb. Towards the climax, the film becomes more intriguing. The climax of the film is really good and so convincing, which makes the audience to come out of the theatre with a satisfied feel.

Main Negatives of the Film - The film has some issues in the first half. The director has taken some time to establish a proper platform for the plot. In between that, few scenes will not create a strong interest towards the film. Other than that, we can't say any big flaws in the film.

Verdict
'Irumbu Thirai' is really an excellent cyber-crime based action thriller, which gives a stronger impact to the audience through the neat execution of cyber-crime content. The film gives a great awareness about this biggest cyber crime to the audience. Only the first half has some issues. So, this film deserves a 'must-watch' category for the intriguing screenplay, powerful performances and especially for the 'information-theft' concept.

Cut Short Rating - 9.3/10
