Plot - How Master Kabali Selva comes out in parole from jail to watch Superstar's 'Kabali' film with the help of his students forms the crux of the story.

Performance of the Star Cast - Kabali Selva delivered a good performance and expressed his love for Superstar very neatly. Ramesh Thilak and Aadhavan gave their best in their portions. Ajay Prasadh and Prasanth Kripakaran also did their part well. Thambi Ramaiah tried some of his humour stuffs in many scenes. But it worked in few parts. Likewise, Yogi Babu made us laugh for some of his portions. John Vijay played a cameo like appearance and made his part comfortable. Risha didn't have a scope to perform in this play. MS Bhaskar delivered his usual performance.

Technical WorksVishnu Shri's cinematography was nice with good visuals. Dinesh Ponraj's editing was very good. The background score by Soorya didn't create a big impact. His music looked very normal only.

Director's Involvement with the Script - Kabali Selva is a very big die-hard fan of Superstar. He tried his level best to show the craziness of every fan towards Superstar. The storyline looks interesting just as a paper work. But, he treated this plot along with many unnecessary elements. Some dialogues in the film were nice. The principles of Superstar was used in some portions.

Screenplay Execution - In the beginning, the screenplay gets into the main plot and it was maintained in a very good flow for 40 minutes. After that, the film went out of the main track and traveled in some other unnecessary track. Towards the interval, it gets into the main track. The interval block in Superstar's style was good. In the second half, the main track was not properly handled. The unnecessary romantic comedy portions between Yogi Babu and Risha didn't gel with the core of the plot. The screenplay falls completely flat in the second half. Due to many flaws, we will not be able to get the emotional feel in the climax.

Main Negatives - They tried to something about the love and craziness of every Superstar fans. But, the portions were less when compared to many unnecessary tracks. If those comedy portions were entertaining, the screenplay would have been interesting. But those comedy tracks looked good only in very few scenes. With the interesting storyline, the director failed in impressing all the audience.

Verdict
This film had a good storyline in showing a great fan's worship for Superstar. But the unnecessary tracks in the film completely spoiled the plot. If you are a great Superstar fan, just watch it once for the plot.

Cut Short Rating - 5.5/10
