Plot - How a genuine District Collector 'Mathivathani' tries to save a girl child 'Dhanshika', who falls in the opened borewell located in the village amidst the pressure from the corrupted politicians and the loss of people's hope forms the crux of the story.
Our 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara, is very choosy in selecting the scripts. She signs only if her role is so strong and bold. After Maya and Dora, she is back again alone to rule the theatres with her latest flick 'Aramm'. The trailer gave us an idea that the film gonna deal with the current situation of water scarcity in TN. But, in the film, it's just a part. So, it made a strong impact on the audience that the film will have a strong social message with powerful dialogues. Her looks are so stunning.
I am very glad that Nayanthara chose a wonderful script in her career. Because, the raw content is so strong. Her stellar performance increased the value of the script and stood as a backbone of the film. The way of expressing her anger towards the corrupted people and reflecting the boldness in her style really made me stunned. She reflected the exact replica of some good government officials in this century. So, she really deserves an hats off for her support towards this film. 'Kaaka Muttai' Boys really done a great job and that too Ramesh (known as Chinna Kaaka Muttai) won the people's hearts in the ending of the film. Ramachandran and Sunu Lakshmi, who played as the parents of that girl 'Dhanshika' reflected the real emotions and also the pain of them in that crucial situation. The other characters revolving around the storyline of the film done a great justice to their roles. The cinematography work by Om Prakash was simply superb and framed the reality of that scenario in a very perfect manner. The editing work by Ruben was very nice, in which his cuts made the film very engaging. The background score by Ghibran was good and made a strong connect with the flow of the storyline. We really have to appreciate Gopi Nainar Sir for handling this script with a very neat execution. He was so confident with the script and that only made the film to reach it's peak. His narration was really good and reflected his paperwork to the silver screens perfectly. The dialogues of the film was really superb and got applause from the audience. In the first half, the director took some time to get into the village people characters. The screenplay attained it's high intensity at the point of revealing the serious issue. From there, the director made the audience to sit in the edge of the seat with a strong connectivity. That connectivity increased our eagerness and made us pinned with it. The interval block was so sharp, which made us to think about the latter half of the film. The screenplay looked so realistic. The second half of the film also had an engaging screenplay. The ending of the film was outstanding and really hard-hitting to us. The reflection of showing the reality along with the pain of those parents made us convinced with the content. So, I am fully satisfied with the film. I am not pinpointing some minute mistakes in the film because of the stronger impact.
Verdict - A Very Good Social Drama from the whole team, in which everyone stood strong with the content of the film and satisfied us to the core. Don't watch with mindset of entertainment. Just sit and watch the film for two hours. This film deserves a special place in your hearts. Watch it in theatres.
Cut Short Rating - 9.5/10
