After a great delay and getting various release dates in this year, Puriyaatha Puthir released yesterday from matinee shows. The change of title from Mellisai to Puriyaatha Puthir synced perfectly as the suspense factor was so engaging. We already know about Vijay Sethupathi's natural performance. He scored well in his usual screen presence. Gayathrie's characterization was good, where she managed to give justice to her part. The main core part of the storyline revolved around the sensitive issues of the current generation. Director Ranjith handled this subject in a suspense thriller way. His execution of slow screenplay carried out that suspense factor very well which creates an interest only among some audience. In first half, the romantic scenes was not boring. In second half, the two songs in between the thrilling screenplay should have been either avoided or shortened its duration. In some scenes, director gave good justification and also lead us to some confusions. Ramesh Thilak and 'Kuttram 23' Mahima played a turning point in the film with their less screen presence. The finishing touch of the Film with a strong message was really good. If this film released on time without any delay issues, the impact would have been stronger.
Verdict - A Good Suspense Thriller in which Vijay Sethupathi stayed strong throughout the entire film. This film deserves a one-time watch for the good content to the current generation.
Cut Short Rating - 7.3/10
