Podhuvaaga Emmanasu Thangam - Cut Short Review

Cast: Udhayanidhi Stalin, R.Parthiban, Nivetha Pethuraj, Soori, Mayilsamy
Direction: Thalapathy Prabhu
Runtime: 2 hrs 18 mins

After Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen, Udhayanidhi Stalin once given a rural based family entertainer with the same usual formula. Udhayanidhi Stalin as an actor showing good improvement in his acting, dancing and comedy scenes but still there is an issue for him in emoting romance sequences. Udhayanidhi-Soori combo worked well in this film when compared to 'Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen'. Soori made us laugh in some moments. R.Parthiban, the backbone of this film who carried the entire film in his shoulder and impressed with his unique villainism. Nivetha Pethuraj looked beautiful as a village girl and did her part in her given space. D.Imman's BGM was good and only 'Ammani Nee' song created a good feel. Director followed the same pattern like Sivakarthikeyan's 'Rajini Murugan' and made us feel good only in some moments. Many usual rural based cliches was seen in many scenes. First half was good but second half doesn't create an interesting plot. Some scenes could have been better in second half I felt but climax was little bit convincing.

Verdict: On the whole, it's an usual commercial entertainer which deserves a one time watch without any high expectations.
